Perhaps too many from Chopin, Tchaikovski and Strauss: many more are missing. I know it's so hard to make these selections. But in terms of popularity, leaving Shostakovic and some ouvertures from Verdi, Puccini and Mascagni's is hard.

Imagine loving this music in the 1800s but not being able to experience it when you want to by searching it on UA-cam . You can only hear it in person in front of all those people and instruments. The live performances meant that they only had that one chance to hear a song play. The emotion they probably felt is unlike we know. That’s probably why people cried more often when they heard a beautiful song.
